The Manacare foundation charity dinner & fashion show took place in the beautiful and romantic gardens of Villa Tiberio on Marbella’s exclusive golden mile and was the perfect venue!
Ex Marbelli and founder of the Manacare foundation, Joy Butler Markham, who now lives in Sri Lanka, and works tirelessly with the project of “the village of hopes and dreams” in Hikkáduwa, a small seaside town badly affected by the tsunami of 2004.
Many thanks to all the sponsors of our raffle prizes which raised just over a thousand euros and all the money raised goes directly to this project in Sri Lanka.
The highlight of the evening was a fashion show of exotic leisure wear designed and created for this very special evening by the intrepid Maeve Martenstein in association with Lou Ching Wong both from the beautiful island of Sri Lanka. The collection consisted of silks, chiffons, georgettes & organzas in brilliant tropical colours with beautiful sheer chiffon tops and kaftans worn over swimwear and flowing silk dresses. The show tailored to every chic & elegant taste & style! Finally the spectacular sarees stole the show! Thank you to all the beautiful models for their time and support! they did a grand job!
This presentation was supported by the Sri Lankan Airlines (the national carrier) and the Sri Lankan tourism bureau whom we also wish to thank.
A very warm appreciation must also go to Yottie, Lady Dulverton for her stupendous skills as MC for the evening, and whom I might add, looked stunning in a Maeve Martenstein creation!
Thank you to Sandro Morelli, the proprietor of Villa Tiberio for his continuous support to Manacare.
And finally, thank you to Loretta Koch Davies and Lorraine Powell for without them, this entire evening could not have been achieved!!
