Katrina Rupit Brings Urban Art And Aztecs To Marbella
Mexican Urban artist Katrina Rupit flew into Marbella tis week to oversee her simply excellent Urban Beauty exhibition at Kasser Rassu Art Gallery in Marbella.
Now I’m a fussy sod when it comes to art, and what will adorn the walls of my mountain home, and in all honesty most of the “Art” I see exhibited in Marbella is utter crap and I make no apologies for saying so.
Katrina’s work on the other hand is a breathe of fresh air, well as fresh as a can of spray paint can get, colourful but dark, feminine yet oddly mannish, perfect composition and to be fair, will look good in any home, against any backdrop.
Painting on wood, leaving some parts bare for the viewer to appreciate the natural beauty of the grain, Katrina is fond of adding newspaper collage as a backdrop for her female studies, and she certainly has a penchant for vibrant blues and reds.
Very well priced, so much so that I invested in one myself, these paintings can only go up in value as Katrina’s career progresses to great heights.
The exhibition runs until the 27th of October at The Kasser Rassu Gallery in Marbella, so be quick to jump on the Katrina Rupit bandwagon because next year you may not be able to afford one…
