Milu, Kasser Rassu’s Finest Marbella Moment

Having suffered some pretty appalling “Art” in Marbella, it was with great pleasure that I popped into Kasser Kassu this week to check out their latest exhibition and discovered Milu Petersen, by far the best artist I have come across in many moons.

Based mildly on an Impressionist style, Milu blasts the viewer with a wonderful use of colour and clever perspective. The gallery was a sea of large canvases that I have to say would fit in any home, office or hotel, and I for one would gladly take a few home, if only I had the wall space.

Mixing with the Marbella Art crowd who, had forfeited an invite to the exclusive Ocean Club summer launch party, in lieu of a little culture, I noticed that 100% of the comments were enormously  positive, and so they should have been.

Milu Petersen, Mozambique born, spent her formative years living between Portugal, England and Zimbabwe. Milu studied Belas Artes in Lisbon for six years than moved to Denmark were she studied at Art School in Skagen and Kopenhagen. In Paris Milu had the opportunity to learn “the art of weaving”. After a year in France she moved to Cabo frio, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where she has now set up home.

Milu has exhibited around the Globe in such far away countries as Guatemala, Panama, Venezuela, Bolivia, Puerto Rico, Miami, Buenos Aires, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Paris, Portugal, Spain and Brazil.
