Networking Salotto Style, And Why The Russians Have It Right

Italian restaurant Salotto, in Nueva Andalucia, held their first networking event for Marbella businesses this week.

Salotto MarbellaWith over 90 business owners in attendance the night indeed was a great success, with fine nibbles, good wine and business card swapping going on at an alarming rate.

Then it struck me, where are the British business owners, I think I saw two, ok maybe four, and why don’t they come to these events? There’s no point moaning about hard times when you don’t get yourself out there and spread your word. And here’s where the Ruskies succeed, they are at every networking event actively showing or telling people about their wares. This weeks Salotto event was probably 50% Russian and God bless em, you can’t say they don’t try. If one day in the future you look around Marbella and wonder why over half the businesses in town are owned and run by the Russians it’s because they deserve it, and they don’t expect the whole world to buy their goods because they are on Face Book so don’t bother doing any other forms of advertising. Buck up the rest of you the “Reds” have arrived so toropit’sya, toropit’sya the rest of you and get networking.

Next week at Salotto on 17th December at 20.30, we have the wine expert Pancho Campo, the Ronda wine maker Ramos Paul and Marbella Wine Club holding an event at the restaurant where we will pair a delicious three course meal with some wines which perfectly complement them.

There will be a welcome glass of Prosecco to begin, followed by a selection of classic Italian starters accompanied by a Soave, then a slow cooked lamb dish in a Barolo wine sauce served with Ramos Paul 2005 wine and finally a homemade Tiramisu served with a Moscato D’Asti.

Pancho will be there to explain about the wines and how to enjoy them. The meal, wine and water is just 35€ per person.
