Urban Beauty by Kathrina Rupit At Kasser Rassu Marbella, 13th October – 16th November 2015
Kathrina originally from Mexico studied graphic design at the University of Visual Arts in Mexico.
After a period of traveling she established herself in Dublin Ireland and has clearly marked her territory with her captivating work. As the saying goes “What’s one Man’s loss is another man’s gain” which is clearly apt for this amazing street artist.
Kathrina uses various mediums that allows a symbiotic dance between urban and culture which is apparent not only with the choice of mediums but in the explosion of colours. Spray paints, urban markers and the use of recyclables such as cardboard, door parts and Popsicle sticks are used as her innovative equivalent and ultimately the largest canvas of all or the streets.
Her inspiration is in part from her Mexican roots and other parts of her daily life, combined with her perception of current issues, which she presents through the female figure.
Kathrina’s work seeks to educate us to look at ourselves as a canvas and how we can become a medium of change.
